Background Info
I'm an programmer, engineer & musician. I studied fine art and electrical engineering as an undergrad and now and wrapping up my masters in EE.

My main focus tends to switch between MIR/DSP and music composition. Recent works include various eclectic house tracks and the Vagamundo Cart. You can see some DSP/MIR work I did on this website

In terms of MIR I am interested in decomposing music and sound into parts. Often this involves classification to intelligeably group the parts. Allthough so far this hasn't impacted my music directly, I wish to use these extracted pieces as the cornerstone of future works.

Future work I would like to pursue would be to use MIR techniques to train a system to recombine given parts into new compositions. This however is heavily tied tied to how well a composition can be deconstructed, so I'm focusing on deconstruction (classification & extraction) right now.

I also wish to pursue acoustic sculptures (purely mechanical), grafitti and music making robots. Visually I'm interested in encoding music into images. Allthough I haven't pursued it yet, I think it would be possible to produce prints that when a viewer looks at the piece (with special camera/speaker glasses) he/she hears music as their eyes scan the print.

In terms of MEAP, I would like to collaborate on some music later this semester or next, given that our schedules allow for it. I want to pursue some noise or rhythm based sound work.
