I've been working on melody transcription recently, so I was hoping to apply that work to the MEAP. The most obvious application would be to use the melody line in some sort of mashup in the audio kiosk. So here's what I've been up to:
Melody Extraction:
- Previously made melody extraction machine learning algorithm by training using synthesized MIDI files as labeled examples
- Decent results on Pop songs (~40% accuracy)
Result Example: Melody Full Song (It sounds a little bit like humming because none of the vowel formants are included)
