sept 19th 2005 class presentation

i'll talk about my work "Slowscan Soundwave (III)", a piece that will be presented at Location 1 in Sept/Oct 2005.

a little context

i'm mostly interested in electronic sculpture (often involving sound), and like to investigate "natural" systems of various sorts. i've also done a lot of live, improvised electronic music. i'm good at building things, designing hardware/circuits, and writing software. i may not be an active contributor to the piece(s) that are created, but i'll be around to help/advise where needed.

i think it's important to have a good understanding of what other people have done and are doing, so i tend to have students look at a lot of existing works. i'll try to recommend some readings, videos, and websites over the course of the term that fit in with the projects you develop.
